Since the start in the early nineties, the SHIPTEC CHINA exhibition in Dalian has grown steadily and will be the most important maritime exhibition in China in 2014. It is a natural reason for this: top China shipbuilders and offshore construction sites in the surrounding Bohai area are attracting people from all over the globe to make business in the north-east. Shipowners, oil companies and the whole industry come to buy and to sell. CSSC has also found its way to SHIPTEC from 2012 onwards, confirming the high importance of this exhibition, which enables SHIPTEC to cover the market in Yangtze River Delta where Shanghai is located.

SHIPTEC CHINA is designed as an event to strengthen B2B relations between ship operators, shipyards and the equipment and service industries. Building bridges between people and technologies, supply and demand has been the formula of success for this maritime trade meeting and will be carried forward for Shiptec China 2014.

“The State Council of China recently unveiled 'An Implementation Plan for Accelerating Restructuring of Shipbuilding Industry, Industrial Conversion and Upgrading (2013-2015)' and set a specific target for Chinese shipbuilding industry to achieve building 25% of global high-value added and high-tech vessels with 20% of offshore units output by 2015.”

“Amidst China’s nationwide shipbuilding slump, newbuilding contracts in the first eight months of this year have increased. Chinese yards gathered new orders totaling 34.19m dwt, a surge of 139.3% over the same period of 2012, according to data from China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).”
